Hi I am new in DA and since I just started uploading my images and from the begining I have been receiving good comments, I would like to apologize for not thanking every person saying enchouraging words.

I would like to tell you something about myself as regards to photography of course...

Since I was at the age of seven i always dreamt to be a photographer although non of my family member was a photographer nor had a possetion of a camera at that time. This was was way back in 1963. But I was surprised and excited how a real pic willturn out after just a click of a button.

The first camera i had inmy hand was a plastic camera given free with washing powder, in fact it was not mine but my younger brother. I had a go with it during the official visit of Pele ( everyone knows who Pele is) to the Maltese islands. It turned out that i had some natural talent.

In 1975, I borrowed a compact camera with the intention to participate in some local competition. I never did.

In 1976 I bought myself my first camera. Wow!!! what a camera! A Hanimex 110 camera. I could not do close ups, i could not focus, i could not add a telephote and more items i could not do. All this i learned afterwards, while i started to read about photography.

In 1978, i went to a TTL camera, maybe some of you might heard about the 'Petri TTL'. It was the camera i could afford. By the way I still have it along side my collection of old cameras. In fact i have around 140 of them.

In my first attemt i managed to get 36 good photos out of the first roll, but all i did was put it in an automatic mode, aim and shoot. Later on, i started to experiment, and the more i experimented the less good photos i was achieving, but i was learning a lot. Reading a lot of magazines i could place my hands on helped me a lot.

I will continue next time, i need to finish a job.
